Early Years Foundation Stage

As a nursery registered to provide childcare provision to children from 3 months of age, we deliver a very important curriculum, called the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). The EYFS Framework exists to support all professionals working in the Early Years. This curriculum helps your child meet their learning objectives whilst learning through play. Once your child has registered with us their key person will begin to observe their learning and development, and plan future experiences and next steps alongside their own Characteristics of Learning and Developmental matters, set out in the EYFS Framework. This is all recorded in your child’s individual learning journey, which is a large scrapbook which collects observations, artwork and any learning from home in chronological order. This journey has an EYFS evidence book alongside it which documents dates relating to the evidence gathered and collates their tracking progress grading for the term. This learning journey belongs to your child, and can be accessed by you at any time. You can ask your key person to discuss your child’s progress whenever you wish between parent evenings, and a suitable meeting time will be planned alongside the general daily feedback. We hold parents evenings twice a year and invite you to come along and meet with your key person to discuss all aspects of your child’s care if you have not done already, including a review of their developmental. During your child’s settle sessions we will provide you with an explanation of the curriculum at Enchanted, and we are on hand at any time to answer any questions you may have.
